I am a knitter, crocheter, crafter, sculptor, painter, computer tech, PTA webmaster and a mother.
Living and working in New York City.
and I can solve a Rubics Cube within 3 minutes.
What is Ridicularium? It's something totally ridiculous and wonderful at the same time!
When I was 6, I've asked to get clothes for my dolls. Instead of buying the doll clothes, my mother has given me a needle, thread and some scrap fabric. Since then, I've been making something constantly.
All the women in my family knit so it was always around me. Naturally, I picked up knitting and crocheting as well.
I'm originally from Japan but my mother is American. Being raised in Japan, I was exposed to a lot of crafts and handy crafty people in Japan. Some of truly remarkable individuals of the world.
I moved to US when I was 12. At the time, I didn't speak any English, so for the first few years, all I did for fun was knit a sweater, rip it up and knit another. After going through every single pattern in a book I had, there wasn't anything that I couldn't knit.
A few of my crochet/knit designs have been published in Interweave Crochet magazines and Interweave Knit Scene magazines.
My last publication is included in the Knitted Gift book by Ann Budd.
But with knitting so many hours started to give a toll for my arm, I needed another outlet for my creativity.
I'm in love with Polymer Clay right now.

昼は大手出版社のシステムエンジニア、隙を見てポリマークレイ・アーティスト。ニューヨーク在住でシングルマザーのバイリンガル・ハーフです。
リディキュラスでワンダフルです。
可笑しくて不思議でスゴイんです。
趣味は読書。特技はルービックキューブを３分以内で解く事です。
生まれは日本ですが、12歳からずっとアメリカです。
6歳のとき、リカちゃん人形の服が欲しいと母に訴えたところ、自分で作れ！と針と糸と布切れを渡されてに以来、何かを作り続けています。
7歳の頃からミシンを使いこなし、宿題もせずに当時大ブレークしていた大高輝美先生のフェルトのマスコットを作りまくりました。
アメリカへ引っ越してから英語がわかんないので教室では読書（日本語）ばかりして家に帰ると編み物に明け暮れる日々。 アメリカのフェルトが透けるほど薄くってマスコットには向かなかったのだけど毛糸は素敵なものが沢山あったのです。
編んではほどいてまた違うものを編む。ということを数年繰り返しているうちに編めないものは無くなりました。
学校ではコミュニケーション代わりに絵を描いていたのでそのまま書き続けていたらいつのまにか高校生になってしまって美術大学へ進みました。
卒業後数年はデザインの仕事をするものの、いつも誰かのアイディアをデジタル化しているだけの業界に嫌気がさして得意だったパソコン整備をしているうちに時が過ぎてしまいました。
フリーランスで編み図を投稿したり、ウェブサイトを和訳したりしてお小遣い稼ぎをしてました。
腱鞘炎になってしまって編み物は数時間したら3日は休まないといけないくらい腕が痛くなります。
なので違う趣味を見つけました。
今はポリマークレイです。
